AquaPhluor® 639 is a rhodamine dye with an excitation and emission in the far red of the visible spectrum and is a logical alternative to Cyanine 5. Like Cyanine 5, AP639 is relatively bright and exhibits sequence- and pH-independent fluorescence. Unlike Cyanine 5, AP639 also shows excellent chemical and photochemical stability as well as temperature-independent fluorescence. AP639 is available as the phosphoramidite and CPG for 5’ and 3’ labeling, respectively.
