Glen Research offers RNA supports in which protected ribonucleosides are attached to CPG. With 5'-DMT protection, and all other protecting groups base-labile, the use of these supports is identical to DNA supports. These supports are suitable for use in producing oligodeoxynucleotides modified at the 3'-terminus or oligoribonucleotides.

Usage
Coupling: Please refer to the technical bulletin for the synthesis and deprotection procedures. This support should be used in a manner identical to normal protected nucleoside support since it contains the DMT group.
Deprotection: Deprotect using the protocol required by the nucleobases.
These supports (20-3303, 20-3315, 20-3324, 20-3330) can be used for oligodeoxynucleotide synthesis when a ribose functionality is desired at the 3'-terminus. Following periodate oxidation of the 1,2-diol, labelling or carrier molecules containing amino groups can be conjugated to the 3'-terminus. An example (1) is the use of poly-lysine as a carrier molecule. These supports can be used for RNA synthesis, and our other RNA supports (now all containing 2'-acetyl protecting groups, which are completely base-labile) can also be used for DNA modification.||REFERENCE(S):(1a) M.
